I like the photos, but each may be easily improved using either Gimp or Photoshop as follows:
1. The field of barley is a bit gloomy and lacking in contrast. Consider using the 'curves' tool to fix it. In Gimp you'll find it at 'Colours / Curves'. Bend the curve line in to a gentle 'S' shape.
2. Both shots with dramatic skies need a neutral density filter applied. This will retain the sky, but bring out the detail in the landscape by lightening it. Do an internet search for a tutorial.
